Sustainable living is the key to cleaner environment and cleaner eating. The Aspen Aqua Grow aquaponics system is a revolutionary product in the field of sustainable living. Similar to Hydroponics, Aquaponics uses a symbiotic system that uses fish and plants. Fish are stored in the lower tank where their excrement is pumped into the upper holding tray. The upper tray is filled with clay media which holds edible plants. The plants will then use the fish excrement for nutrition and, in doing so, filter the water for the fish. This amazing device allows several meals worth of fish and plants to be grown in as little as a 1-2 months. What's more amazing is that you'll use up to 90% less water to grow vegetables than in soil and grow those same vegetables up to three times faster. A single head of lettuce only needs a gallon of water in an aquaponics unit vs. 15 gallons when used in a field crop. You'll have the piece of mind knowing that the vegetables and fish you're eating aren't pumped full of chemicals or insecticides. The Aspen system comes with in-depth instructions and all the starting chemicals you need to dechlorinate and balance your water for your fish. Also included is the submersible pump and growing media. Lights, additional food, fish and plants are not included.
