Not sure if this would work for us in an open area but we are pleased. Fit was perfect. Easy to anchor. But I wanted to make our 'rock' look normal in our very rocky terrain. After it was installed, I raked mulch up the sides, unevenly of course. Then I found rocks with a similar cut to them, in this case sharp edges instead of rounded. I placed these rocks around the faux rock to make it appear more natural and integral to the garden. We like the results very much. In spring it will quickly be hidden. We also like the rough natural feel of the faux stone. I would have gone with one a shade darker and that is my only regret. Otherwise definitely worth the cost. Very easy install.
