These Rain Barrels are upcycled from containers formerly used to ship and store food products. This means they are saving these plastic barrels from being disposed of in landfills.
The Terra-Cotta barrels are the perfect color to match your terra-cotta planters and hanging pots. The color blends in well with red brick homes. Heavy duty screening keeps even the smallest mosquitoes out.
Since these rain barrels are made from previously used barrels made of high-density polyethylene plastic, they can be left outdoors even in the winter months. These barrels have plastic fittings so they will expand and contract with the plastic barrel and avoid leakage. So, there’s no need to modify your downspouts in the Spring and Fall!
Please keep in mind there may be slight scratching or scuffs due to previous overseas transportation. Exact shape of the barrels may vary due to availability but the color and size remain true. Because these barrels were originally used to transport food, there may be residual food product odor. The residual odor will dissipate after a few full barrel filling cycles. We use a PH balanced, environmentally friendly soap when cleaning so that the water gathered can immediately be used on plants without harm.
